Hello & welcome
to Design Revista online.

This month we are going to be looking at some ways to help your print designs get that professional touch. We will cover the basics and give you some hot tips! In keeping with the print theme, we will look at some of the major differences between designing for print and designing for the web. This is something that every good designer should know. We then follow on with an article about what makes good design. If all that isn't enough we take a look at the latest release from the Adobe Stable!

Well, kick back, relax and soak up the expert advice, as always if there is anything you want to know or suggest drop us a letter, this months are below.

Dear Ed,

Hi and firstly great Mag!! My question is regarding digital cameras, I am a designer and I am looking to get into some photography, so I am wondering, what should I be looking for in the way of a camera that will serve me well in the future.

What features do I need to look for, eg. zoom, megapixels etc?

John

Hi John

Thanks for your letter. Well I would say that if you want to look long term then you should be looking a DSLR. Canon and Nikon make some great models with lenses at a good price. But if you can only afford point and shot, look for something with a good level of optical zoom at least 3 times as a minimum. Also keep a look out for our next issue because will be covering some basics on purchasing cameras.

Hi Ed.

What a great mag, I have got every issue so far and I love it! I am wondering if you could cover computer monitors in the coming months. I have been looking out for a new one. I am considering going to a LCD but I’m still not sure what to look for.

Kate

Hi Kate

Yes! We will certainly make an effort to look at some monitors for you. In the mean time some things to consider are, that LCD monitors are improving a lot. CRT monitors are on the way out. Take a look at some of the models by companies such as Dell, which feature great contrast ratios and a very low dot pitch.

Hi Ed.

Just thought I would thank you for your great review of Flash 2004 MX professional, last issue. It was a great read and I have since bought it and am using it great effect!

Sam

Hi Sam

That’s great to hear. Have look this issue as we begin our review of Adobe Creative Studio.
